Ranchi: Ranchi police have seized a pickup vehicle allegedly carrying cattle heads and skeletal remains in the Pithoria police station area of Jharkhand’s capital, detaining one person for questioning in connection with the case. The vehicle was intercepted in Piru Tola after officers received specific intelligence that animal remains were being transported to another location for unlawful disposal or sale. Acting swiftly on the information, a police team launched a targeted operation, cordoned off the locality and stopped the suspected vehicle during a search drive. Officials said the remains were recovered during an inspection, following which the vehicle was impounded and taken to the police station for further examination. The incident has triggered concern among local residents and renewed scrutiny over the illegal transport and disposal of animal waste in peri-urban areas.
