Howrah, West Bengal: A disastrous event happened on Tuesday afternoon at the Howrah Mangla Haat. The massive iron rod fell from the Howrah Haat building trade center, killing two men within seconds. The event took place in a building next to the Howrah Municipal Corporation, which raises big concerns regarding safety issues at construction sites. Howrah City Police said that the victims, Sheikh Irfan and Khokon, were both merchants who had come to the trade center to stock items for the Mangalahat market. There has been welding work going on in the building's stairs since this morning. During the operation, a large iron rod reportedly fell from above and struck the two men standing below. Faridabad : On Saturday, a terrible event happened at the famous Surajkund Mela in Faridabad, which raised severe concerns about the festival's safety. On the same day, two different reports said that a police inspector died while saving people and that numerous visitors, including a child, were injured. Police said that the worst thing that happened was when a joy ride broke down and fell over in one of the fair's busiest areas at 6 p.m on Saturday. There were 19 people on the swing when it fell to the ground. When individuals on the ride began shouting for help, panic set in. Police Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who was on duty at the event, quickly ran to the scene to help those who were stuck and stop other people from getting injured. Khagaria, Bihar:   On Thursday, a fire broke out in Madhopur village , Parbatta block, Khagaria district . It burned down the house of local resident Agnidev Singh and turned it to ashes. People who live in the area said that the fire began soon in the afternoon and that smoke came from the side of the home. The fire spread swiftly because of the unknown combustible material.  The family had very little time to protect their belongings. A massive fire completely destroyed the home. Burned wooden homes, scorched appliances, and ash-coated food and clothing littered the area.  People who lived nearby claimed they tried to put out the fire with water from hand pumps and buckets, but it didn't work. Ranchi – The Jharkhand Congress has taken decisive steps to address the plight of displaced communities in mining-affected regions, forming a five-member inquiry committee to probe allegations of exploitation by mining companies and questionable involvement of local administration. In a high-level meeting held in Ranchi on Wednesday, Jharkhand Congress in-charge K. Raju and committee coordinator Minister Radha Krishna Kishore reviewed the ongoing displacement issues in Badkagaon and Keradari blocks under Hazaribagh district, as well as Patratu in Ramgarh district.
