Police said that the worst thing that happened was when a joy ride broke down and fell over in one of the fair's busiest areas at 6 p.m on Saturday. There were 19 people on the swing when it fell to the ground. When individuals on the ride began shouting for help, panic set in. Police Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who was on duty at the event, quickly ran to the scene to help those who were stuck and stop other people from getting injured.

A large part of the broken ride fell while Inspector Jagdish Prasad was trying to help people get out safely, seriously injuring him. He was taken to a local hospital right away, where physicians said he was dead. Eight other persons, including women and children, got injured in the same incident. All of the injured people were taken to the hospital, where they are now getting care.

The death of Inspector Jagdish Prasad shocked the Palwal police and the people who lived there. According to other officers, Inspector Prasad joined the Haryana Armed Police in 1989. Prasad was set to retire in March after 36 years in the police force.

Earlier in the day, there was another mishap at the Surajkund Mela's second entry gate. Reports say that part of the entry structure fell down because of the huge throng. Because of this, a child and a man in his 40s were wounded. They got medical help right away, and their status is stated to be stable.

After the two events happened one after the other, tourists were scared and confused. People have a lot of questions about the fair's infrastructure, ride upkeep, and crowd control. Many people said that the appropriate safety checks were either not done or were not done at all, even though a lot of people showed up.

On Saturday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said he was sad about what happened. The CM said on X that he was really sad about the unfortunate thing that happened during the Surajkund Mela in Faridabad.
